Ms. Jennifer A. Waters has conducted analyses
of faunal materials from sites throughout much of Arizona for nearly
two decades. Analyzed assemblages are from sites that date to both
prehistoric and historic times.
The study of animal bone
can yield insights into prehistoric diet. Changes in the relative role
of hunting, in comparison with other food sources, is variable over
time and space and can inform on changes in land-use patterns.
